about 50% to 60% of our incoming students in student residence halls (they
are subsidized by the state and therefore only cost around 280 to 360 Euro).
Since there is no fair way to distribute the rooms, we use a lottery system in
order to assign them. Those who are not lucky need to find a room on the
private market. Although we do assist students by handing out information
on how to find affordable housing, it is up to the student to find
accommodation. Private rooms are much more expensive (starting at around
500 Euro in shared apartments) and students should also consider living in
