host_eligibility: Students wishing to participate in an exchange programme at the University of Latvia (UL) must first be officially nominated by their home university.

host_deadline: Around 1.5 months after the application deadline the accepted ERASMUS+ and bilateral exchange students receive from the Mobility Division an official acceptance letter by regular post. All exchange students receive acceptance letter by email. Students should check emails regularly . Students who had applied for the place in the university’s dormitory are requested to make the choice and reply to the acceptance email till the certain date mentioned in the acceptance letter and email. After nomination, exchange students must complete the online application , which opens approx. one month before the application deadline. Application deadlines: 15 May for the autumn semester or full academic year 15 November for the spring semester

The admission decision will be made by the Director of the chosen study programme at the Faculty.

course_restrictions: Application review and Acceptance: Each application is considered individually by the relevant UL faculty. The decision is based on the completed application, supporting documents, and selected courses. Selection results are announced approx. 1.5 months after the application deadline.
housing: The University of Latvia offers student accommodation for international students in two student hotels: The University of Latvia has an official cooperation with real estate agency GlobalHome which has helped with housing students from 30 countries so far. The company will help you find the best place to live in Riga, taking into account the best match for location/price/living conditions. Read feedback from students here . The insurance policy shall be valid for a period not less than student’s residence permit validity in Latvia. If the validity date of the policy expires during student’s stay in Latvia, the existing policy shall be extended or a new policy shall be purchased.
costs: Majority of bilateral/network cooperation agreements do not foresee scholarship for studies abroad, but gives an opportunity to study in a partner university with waived tuition fee.
insurance: All International students must have a life and health insurance : 1) For EU citizen – at least European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
living_costs: For the purpose of the visit, the nominated mobility participant receives an Erasmus+ grant, which covers the costs of travel ( by the EC distance calculator rate ) and living costs abroad. The grant is paid one month before the start of the mobility, provided that all formalities are completed in time. Mobility participants receive an Erasmus+ grant to cover travel (according to the EC distance calculator rate) and living expenses abroad. The grant is paid after the administrative formalities of the Erasmus+ program have been completed in a timely manner.
