Please note, the Swedish Migration Agency requires students to be accepted to full–time studies to issue residence permits for non-EU/EES students. Full-time study means

30 credits (or higher education points) per term

. You cannot receive a residence permit for distance learning or online courses.

Restricted subject areas for exchange students:

Business Studies – Entry requirements vary considerably and are generally high. Admission to Master level courses requires a finished Bachelor's degree majoring in Business Studies. Limited spaces on certain courses.

Biomedicine – A very strong academic background in the subject is required. Limited spaces.

Economics – Courses are not available to exchange students.

Government - Course availability is limited, particularly for courses with general entry requirements.

History – Some courses have limited capacity.

Immunology – A very strong academic background in the subject is required. Very limited spaces on courses.

Law – Students must have completed at least two years of prior full-time Law studies. Places on specific courses cannot be guaranteed. Students who meet the academic requirements can normally be offered Law courses but should be flexible regarding course selection, as the courses offered may differ from those initially requested.

Medicine – Clinical Medicine courses are not available through university-wide exchange agreements. Students applying for other Medicine courses must have a strong academic background in Medicine. No entry-level courses are taught in English.

Musicology – Limited course availability (if any), with high entry requirements.

Natural Sciences including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Engineering – There are few to no entry-level courses taught in English. Students must have a very strong academic background in the relevant subject and meet the specific entry requirements. Very limited spaces on almost all courses.

Pharmacy - A very strong academic background is required. Limited spaces.

Philosophy – A limited selection of courses is available with high entry requirements.

Psychology – Only a small number of basic-level courses are taught in English with extremely limited spaces available.

Physiology and Anatomy – Courses are not available to students on university-wide exchange agreements.

Sociology – None to very few courses available, with high entry requirements, depending on the semester.

Courses offered within regular Bachelor's and Master's programmes, that are not included in the Course Catalogue for Exchange Students, are generally not available to exchange students.
